« on: March 05, 2017, 09:27:07 am »

As above no other letters etc. I assume this does not have a bec. So is this a forward only esc. It has a switcher on top. Speed range pot and neutral pot. And what ampage. .... should I assume 15?

Hi ya Klunk

The Electronize speed controller type 43VR is the one with BEC - it should have an orange and red cable coming out of the size as well as the standard red, black power supply - blue and yellow to the motor and obviously the connection to the Receiver.   The switcher on top had me baffled for a min :-) but you are referring to the relay - there also should be a speed range hole and a neutral setting hole for you to set the appropriate ranges.

The Type 43X is exactly the same, only, it doesn't have the BEC - so therefore there should be no orange and red wires coming from the side.  Everything else is exactly the same; you are right I presume it is a 15 amp - however, just to be on the safeside - I am going to go through my 'old' electrical documents to check for you - I believe they did do a 10 amp one - but I cant remember.....

Hi John,

I have an electronize speed control unit which doesn't work.  I understand they might take them back for repair.  Not sure if they charge or not.

Would you know their contact details please.?

Cheers Dave,

Had to magnify the screen, but I deciphered it in the end.  I'll give them a ring Monday and see how the land lies.

Cheers mate

Hi ya Ken

It depends upon how old the Electronize speed controller is - if its an old one - with the 'old' ZN409 chip in it - the chances are they may tell you to bin it - BUT DONT - I have a couple of replacement chips and transistors - so if they tell you to bin it - send me a personal message and we will work something out.    If its the new type - they will possibly repair it for you for a small fee.

Thank you young John.   :-))

I'll dig it out of the spares box and have a look. It seems a pity to own it but not being able to use it.  There's no rush as I have another project on the go, as you know.   %)

cheers

I've just nipped down to the shed and found it's an  FR30HX.

The write up on your recommended owners site is rather good so I might pursue it's restoration.

Cheers

The "switcher" is the relay that allows reverse when it operates.  It is a good idea when setting up to make sure that it is in its "not operated" state when going forward.  The coil does take relatively a lot of current, and can flatten a receiver battery quite quickly.
