1/1 Scale Aircraft India Tango

The other hobby, just snapped a bargan. A three axis microlight burns 11 ltrs per hour no aerobatics but flys well only disadvantage is the low inertia so no IFR and no night flying.

So, this isn't a light aircraft in the sense of a traditional light aircraft then?

My models are not nice, clean and ship-shape. They be mucky, grubby, rusty and smelly.

Great cheap flying!!!

Reminds me of my dad's old Piper Colt - same boxy appearance but as sturdy as an ox.

IFR and night flying are for the commercial guys - proper flying is being able to see where you are going and enjoying the view  :-))

No its classed as a microlight so I had to have a type rating on my PPL, its really good fun to fly, I have a share of a Tiger Moth which my wife has very mixed feelings about so India Juliet obvercomes these by having a heater and enclosed cabin was tempted to get a new one but thought no we have been married a long time.

What, get a new wife? That is harsh! Only joking, your Three Axis looks as good as new. How long have you been flying?

So then O_G..........what is she?  Make, model, engine etc. etc. etc......?

Obtained my PPL over 20 years ago at Bournemouth on C152's then had the use of an Aerobat and Cherokee 140 for a few years after that.  Would love to get back into flying again but, at the moment, I cannot justify the expense.....  <:( <:(

Started flying in 1978 care of the RAF Flying Club in sunny W Germany think the lessons were DM 60 per hour. Managed to get a exchange posting with the US Army at Fort Still, Oklahoma where flying was quite cheep so got a Instrument rating. Had a break from flying in the early eighties as I was somewhat busy liberating the Falklands and trying to get into Staff College amd remain married.
