That's a shame. neil and I were there yesterday afternoon after dropping his daughter and her shipmate friend at the passport office for a id afternoon appointment.

We had already had one disappointment when we went to Hoylake to view a model of a Steam lifeboat in Hoylake lifeboat museum, only to find it closed. then onto Hoylake RNLI station, yet again to find it closed and locked.

So we decided to go on to New Brighton to watch the model boats sailing on the lake.........zilch.

in the end we consoled ourselves in having an ice cream at the end of New Brighton prom, and watched a fire develop on the Liverpool side of the river.

I pity the crew of the bulk carrier in the next dock.

Is the Wallasey Model Boat Society the New Brighton MBC having changed its name? As I was working in Liverpool area in November-December 1999 and I went along to the New Brighton MBC club night and I was made most welcome and just wondered why they changed their name?

Hi Jim, yes it has closed I have just found this on the web.

Hoylake Lifeboat Museum

29 April 2015 ·

29 April 2015

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We regret that we are having to write to you to inform you of the immediate closure of Hoylake Lifeboat Museum.

Unfortunately, due to continued problems in securing promised funding to develop part of the museum as a cafe, and thus generate a viable income stream to meet our outgoings, the museum is no longer able to continue to operate and meet those outgoing commitments.

We would like to thank you for all your support and interest over the past years and assure you that the decision has neither been taken lightly, nor without a great deal of emotion on the part of the Trustees and Committee.

Yours sincerely

The Trustees and Committee of
 Hoylake Lifeboat Museum.

Regards Dave.

Seeing this  ,I have also asked about the models that were donated  by myself on behalf of T Fish who passed away  some time back ,and the model I donated was a large model of the lifeboat that was always moored off the old new brighton pier ,this was given to me  but I could not use  she was 5 ft  ,I have never had a reply neither to my home  nor my relative who lives close to ,,I gave it All up as a loss ,sad ,as there are more models to be donated from a chap who lives in Prescot now  but did live in Rowson st . afraid its the way of the world ,models being miss laid
