Proxxon PD 250
« on: March 17, 2017, 02:56:17 pm »

Hi all. I here Been  toying with the idea of getting a mini lathe , I have been looking about and I have read various posts on the forum . I keep getting drawn to the Proxxon PD 250 as I do have a number of other Proxxon items and I find them great .
My question being Is the Proxxon PD 250 worth the money ?
It is nearly double the price of some of the others , don't mind paying it if it is worth it .

I would go for the PD400 ....
Bought a cheap chinese lathe years ago to save money and wasted tons of money to get it working properly.
For my self I would buy the PD400. Proxxon has a good quality and there is the option to add the PF230 drill.

Erm, sorry, but there is an enormous price difference between the 250 and 400. Few of us could afford the 400 for model making..... <:(

Thanks for the replies !
Since I posted this I have bought a second hand lathe , saying that it hasn't arrived as yet but should be here for the weekend.
It's a Proxxon PD 230e also was bought with a few extras . Seen it on eBay and took the chance . Hope I made the right decision.
I did think the 250 was just to small , was wanting something that I could do more with in the future if a want to .
Hope it works out !
