I was there recently - on a steaming day - they get it up & running.
There's a second identical engine that you can climb all over on a guided tour - i'm standing on it when i took this picture.

This engine was dressed up and used in the Titanic film. It's about the same size but different to the Titanic engine being only 3 cylinder where the Titanic had 2 low pressure pistons making 4 in total per engine.
