1/12 TRACTOR.
« on: May 01, 2017, 07:22:18 pm »

I made the same model a couple of years ago on a base entitled 'MOUSES NEW HOME'

I really enjoyed it and decided to get another, this one isn't a non runner but is battered and rusty-a work horse :D

I added some mats that I scuffed up and some decals in the engine bay, also scuffed up the tyres so they look used.

This is where I am up to at the moment, still loads to do with side panels and roof, it is around 80% finished.

This is the new one I am doing.

Looking good Si! Are you adding mudguards? If so give them a darn good coating of mud. Humbrol Flat earth and talcum powder make a good mix to create muddy areas.

Thank you sir, appreciate it. Yes, there be mudguards to fit once I have the sides and back on. Thanks for the tip, I normally use pigments but I like your idea.

I learnt it from an old Mil mod magazine when enamels ruled supreme! He used the sludge from the bottom of the white spirit jar but I think flat earth is a better basis for mud.
