I have an old Club 500 boat that I am using to let kids from the public have a go at model boating when we have events on at my local pond.
It has a stock 550 motor, 7.2V Nimh battery, 15 amp Mtronix Viper marine ESC and fuse protection. Radio is an old 2 channel 27MHz AM system.
Currently I am limiting the throttle movement on the TX to reduce speed by about 40-50% (so they don’t go mad on the pond), but I wonder is there any electrical way to reduce the current from say the ESC to the motor like a servomorph type gadget so there is full throttle stick travel but only 50% power output to the motor?
I have very basic electrical knowledge so please explain any circuitry as simply as possible.
I’ve tried looking through the Black Arts and Brushed motors threads but can’t find anything.
Over to you guys………
