Traplet's X List plans
« on: May 23, 2017, 12:50:38 pm »

Is there any known reference that has pictures or at least illustrations for Traplet's X List plan offerings.

Your best bet is to try and get hold of an old Nexus plans catalogue from the 1970s. The X list plans, ( which are usually pretty old designs) were originally dropped due to low or no demand and semi outsourced so there are no digital images of them.

If you want to know about a particular one you can ask on here, somebody will know or even have an image.

There is another point in that if you can find out when the plans were first featured in Model Maker/Model Boats, you may be a ble to find that issue. The plans were frequently published in full at at a small scale but at a high quality so they can be readily be scanned in and reproduced at whatever size you want. Could still be cheaper to buy then in the end though!

Thankyou Phil, I really appreciate the offer.
It's a bit catch22 though. I'll not know what I want until I track down an old Nexus plans catalogue. I'm sure I have one somewhere. I'll make myself known to you at the weekend.

I have a Nexus plans book from 1998, I also have a MAP plans books from 1964 and 1974. I will bring them with me on Saturday. I'll be around the PAMBC stand or ask Ron Dean to point me out.

Its so funny in reading the posts no one chucked their Map, Argus or Nexus plansbook out years ago and look at it today were they haven't printed a new edition were still referring to it to see what designs we like???
As I know where mine is in the loft well seen's it's a mild night tonight here in Bristol i might have to go and hunt mine out as l reckon I've got 4-5 handbooks up there somewhere and you never know Arthur Neagus and Traplet now they've bought them out will be very interested in having a nose. I better re-phase that Traplet will realise what's been thrown out over the years.
