hull anti foul paint

Sure I read on here that someone suggested that the red lead type spray aka Halfords and the ilk, might be better replace with Humbrol ?????  I have used a different Humbrol red and it came out a lot darker, the spray red seems to bright once immersed in water.

It's either Humbrol 73 Wine or 70 Brick red most modellers go for in this range

hi there
As, has been stated, Humbrol BRICK RED has been used a few times -  I have also used Humbrol 113 MATT RUST - and 160 German CAMOUFLAGE BROWN - but these have been overcoated with satin because they are a Matt.    If you are into acrylic paints - Tamiya do a HULL RED which is very close to the original Humbrol Hull red of 177 .

something to think about.

Just mix 19 with 70 to get desired reddish look without the problems with just a matt finish . That is finger-proof and anti-smudge
