Joining carbon fibre strip,tube, square sections

Anybody got any experience or knowledge of glueing carbon fibre Strip,
tube, and square sections together - also the carbon fibre will be glued
to a styrene base plate

recommendations ? epoxy or CA ??

No experience at all here, but I do recall watching a tv program on F1 cars that mentioned bonding CF is one of the most problematic things they do. CF to CF is no problem they use advanced epoxies, its when it comes to bonding it to other materials, for instance a metallic insert. The bonding substance can fail in contact with the CF.

Things may have changed over the years and better products be available, a google search would be the answer I suspect, but for our modelling purposes I would say an epoxy  agent would be far superior to a cyanocrylate.

I've settled on Gorilla CA Superglue  - it claims to be
"Reinforced with Rubber for Impact Strength"

The sample  CF->CF, & CF->Styrene joints I made
certainly seem stronger & less brittle than ordinary superglue.
