I posted that one a year or so ago tug fanatic. I even suggested the wing on the back was for extra downforce sort of like a formula 1 car  %) %)

Time to revive a topic with another pair of fugly's %)

It looks like the designer didn't know when to stop adding levels - either that or he was high on lsd.

Funnily enough I quite liked these as well!

Each of them had its own mail box.

In Helsinki I thought this ferry counted as ugly but the Pilot boat was magnificent.

I believe in function over styling but even I have limits. Can you imagine the conversation where a group of people were proud of what their new ship was going to look like?

Unfortunately no - I was not aware of its existence.

The Oceandiv Futura was so "interesting" that I couldn't miss taking photos at the 2016 Rotterdam Port Days. Couldn't miss a bit of elegant contemporary design.  %) . Their web site is worth a look.

Actually they are supposed to look like that :} It gives the maximum stern width for towing sonar array for underwater mapping purposes. One of them holds the record for the longest towed array at something like 5 kilometres.

The "ramforms" are interesting, but I wouldn't build a model of one.

The Bottsand, however, would be a fun model to split open and collect a simulated oil spill or something.

Truly beauty is in the eye of the beholder designer. O0 O0

No different to some of the architectural "wonders". :(( :((

The worry is that they convinced someone to pay for and build it. :o :o

I had the pleasure -no not that -wonder, of watching this sail pass me one day while we moored in Holland a few years back. It looks better in photos than real life...

...it is not pretty from any angle.  It was raining so never got my phone out, mind you I was standing on the back of on this at the time (sister to Seabex1)...

...These are not ugly IMO.  We've had a few of these in our area while we were sat diving.  When I was sitting my Nav Arch. degree these were cutting edge.  They deploy a load of towed sensors behind and the wide transom is genious invention.

........They don't help however when you have sat divers in the water while a sizemic vessel is within 10-20 miles.  Noise from explosive charges travel a long way under water!!!!!

BGFStew posted the ramform ship a couple of posts up.

Here's a view of it from the stern, it would take a lot of scratchbuilding skill to model this one....
