Yes, I usually buy the Action BEC board.  Just £9.  Quite small. Power input from your 6 to 15V battery, regulated output 5V for your receiver / servo controls etc. Saves adding extras batteries etc.  BEC = Battery Eliminator Circuit.

See  http://www.action-electronics.co.uk/pdfs/P19.pdf

PS: Are you building the military or civil version.  I do like their armed tug myself.

Dave, if I remember correctly AcTion have a link on their website with schematic layout of the electronics required for Slipway models, everything is matched for the particular model, even tells you which motor, battery and fuse combinations etc. Only going from memory here as it was some time ago that I built Slipways Maggie M and longer still when I built the Loyal. Give Slipway a call or drop them an email, Laurie there is really helpful so too is his better half! Slipway boats build really well and can superdetailed if you choose to do so. The Assurance is lovely looking model........good choice. May I wish you all the success with your build, take it slowly, follow the instructions to the letter and you will have a boat to be very proud of. I attempted builds from other manufacturers and failed (not necessarily their fault) but the Slipway ones were the ones I succeeded with and taught me the skills I needed never to fail again. Once again, good luck, enjoy and we will all look forward to your progress through to the wetting of the hull!

All the best from a fellow Dave

Dave, I've got the electronics for your Assurance build if your interested, they were intended to use in the Maggie M but as it was just a build for display the electronics never got put in (built it for someone else). They are all the AcTion items that are required for the Assurance........fits Maggie, the Loyal etc etc i.e speed controller, fuse indicator, bec board. Everything is new, never used and comes with the silicone cables (black, red, blue and yellow) plus the switch and fuses.
Yours for £50 posted if your interested.

Cheers Dave
