I had an accident earlier in the week, I was mixing up some polyester resin only a small amount. I had it measured (300ml) in a jam jar, then I went to my squeezy bottle of hardener to add the required number of drops. As I squeezed the top popped out and half a bottle of hardener sloshed into the resin.
I poured off as much of the hardener as I could and mixed up what I had in the jar. Now I know I should have discarded it, but it was to finish off a small job where I had not mixed up quite enough resin, so went with it. As its not load bearing or in danger of shearing I wasn't too concerned.
Now 3 days later the cloth and resin has set up, but its left the surface tacky and sticky to the touch, is there any way of getting rid of the stickiness?
I'm about to rub some talcum powder into it, but failing that maybe a wipe over with a cloth and acetone?
Any options you can offer please?
