Graphics tablet Help
« on: September 07, 2017, 02:54:38 pm »

Hi there
Just got a Ugee M1000L 10x6 graphics tablet as desk and working area littered with scraps of paper.
Problem is getting software that works with it, tried Gimp 2.8 but mouse works but not pen and ms paint works but very basic for what I need.
Just wondered what others are using and if any free software does work with this model for sketching and writing.
Cheers.

Not had a tablet since my last one called it a day 4 years ago, but they are incredibly useful.

Any tablet should work with any art software so, Coreldraw, Photoshop, etc etc. I think that your problem may be a driver issue for the tablet. Did it come with a disk? If so explore the disk and add the drivers to the computer manually. It could also be a problem if you are trying to use it with win10 - is it compatible? Connecting the tablet to any late versions of windows and it should search for drivers anyway. Lastly search the internet to see if similar problems exist with fixes... Google, 'tablet name won't work' in the search criteria should give some results.

edit....have you tried refreshing the batteries in the pen?

Try installing the latest driver from Ugee, it's at the top of the list.

You say the mouse works, but not the pen.
Just a thought. Disconnect the mouse and see if the pen works, or if not, then reboot after disconnecting the mouse and see if the pen works.
If that is the case, then it may be possible in the control panel/settings to allow both to work when both connected.

If you haven't yet done so, it is also worth doing a Google search for both UGEE GROUPS  and GIMP 2.8 GROUPS,  as other users will probably have come across this problem before. Or even a more general search for UGEE GRAPHICS SOFTWARE.

Managed to get the latest driver installed from ugee but gimp still don't work. Seemingly gimp and krita don't like ugee drivers.
Cheers.
