XRAD'S V1
« on: October 24, 2017, 01:59:58 am »

This is maybe an old Dumas deep v40...one of the early designs?  Anyway, got it for fair price off ebay. Too bad you can't smell stuff before you buy it ( hull smelled like cat "p i ss" if interested).  Took a bit of cleaning, and some glass repair, and hole filling. Well made hull.

Machined up two motor mounts out of 1.75" aluminum rounds. That took a few hours. Mounted x2 of

There is a bit of an angle on the backside of motor mount, so that had to be machined into the mount.
Not a bad motor for 75$. Well made. Getting replacement parts may be the issue, especially the flex shaft. I switched out props to metal ...forget the size.  x2 60 amp seaking esc's.

some 3D designs for power and cooling ports on aft deck, and cockpit. FreeCAD for design, which then is 'meshed' and sent to CURA program for GCode conversion, and then printed.

Near done, just need to build the steering linkage and install the battery and electronics...

I copied some gauge face pics off the net and shrunk them down for printing, then glued on and coated with clear plastic...not so great, but good enough...
