Well Sydney has finally named a new ferry "Ferry Macferry Face"
I think one of the other suggested names was better "Ferry at the bottom of the Garden"  :}

What a load of Cr p!
Some dope obviously rolled over without thinking very far ahead. I think it will be changed before long, as there has been a lot of opposition to it, and rightly so.

Not sure  how happy the Ferry Macferry Face will be if they had to divert her to a Manly run in an emergency........ >>:-(

Not sure who is responsible? :police: ......Sydney Ports Commission, Sydney Ferries, NSW Government?....all must be considered as grossly inept in their decision making process

Sad!  Now that everyone has access to media, many also think that any comments and suggestions they make are valid!
We had the Boaty boaty Macboatface saga here, I believe it is on a submersible so is out of sight some of the time.  I think the explosion of users of the media has revealed that some of the population are just not very bright.
In several junior managing roles it became clear that when taking part in management meetings recognising that you have nothing of note to contribute is a personal step forward.  The old adage about 1 mouth but 2 ears springs to mind.

Yes RAAArtyGunner ....

You suggested I had a memory of a Camel  ....and I also remember in your younger years you were a frequent traveller on our Sydney Ferries O0

So could this be you on your way to School one day on a Sydney Ferry %)...... just watching a big Greenie? & yep...the rougher & bigger the better!...except if you were trying to read the Sydney Morning Herald........

Derek

PS.....roycv ...I bet your Son has never taken you on a daily trip in harbour waters such as this......

This isn't a ship or boat but I quite like the name the came up with for this in a naming competition:

Hi Derek, I have only been on the cats.  Not the old green ferries, never seen it that rough either!
My son and his partner like to look at the flora and fauna, which I am sure is very nice but put me near an old crane or loco I can climb onto and I am happy.
I did have an enjoyable day last year showing my son around the York railway museum.  I had to explain some of the mechanical workings which I later saw him checking with a museum attendant, made me smile! We old b*****s still know a thing or two even the ones without PhD's.
He is good company though.
I return in mid Feb for another 5 weeks of extra summer.

Just a shot of the view from top of North head.

We had a commanding view of everything coming in or out of the Harbour.

Due to the refusal by the Maritime Union to crew this vessel under the name given by the retards in the public who voted for that name, and accepted by the Minister for Transport,  the name is to be dropped after the summer season, and revert to its registered name EMERALD 6

It was only a matter of time!

Nah, ours was better . . . a Polar research ship being built at Cammell Laird right now . . . .
BOATY McBOATFACE   %%  wonder what they were smoking ?
Common sense prevailed & it's to be the DAVID ATTENBOROUGH , tho' the ROV is to be named BOATY etc .
Twitter & facebook are to be blamed for this nonsense , probably apply's in your case too . . .
