Rother class, Alice Upjohn build blog
« on: November 15, 2017, 01:33:04 pm »

After the kit sitting in my loft for over a year I have decided to make a start. It is a Metcalfe Mouldings kit bought from Tony Green steam models when he was first involved.

My question is I saw a very good build blog of this model a long time ago on here but am unable to find it now, has it been deleted or is my ability to find things pathetic {:-{

Help would be appreciated.

yes...........but Dave Metcalf's name is spelt METCALF.................... without a "variant"...........would you like your name being misspelt on mail coming through the door on a daily basis.........errrr......NO!!! I certainly don't..........people are proud of their names and should be accorded that respect deserved. <*< >>:-(

Wind your neck in. Everyone makes a mistake now and again. It’s people like you who put other people off posting on here.

yeh, and it's people like me and other builders that do the build posts on here.....and without us arrogant sods who take the time to put our build threads on here for people like you to gain hints and tips on how to do it, teaching  beginners,you'd have a boring forum Big Choose Cheese <*< >>:-(

it's easier to get a name right in the first place as well O0

anyway..........I've stated my case and how I feel about respecting people and who they are, so, you can argue amongst yourselves now............nuff said. :}

Hello Shaun
The build blog I found is the same as the one Charlie has noted. I think it is very good ad will assist me.

The rubbish spouted above your post is the reason myself and I am sure others do not post build blogs, there seem to be some very sad folks out there just looking for the slightest reason to 'whinge'.

Enjoy your build Shaun.

Thanks a lot Chris, It does seem that there are several posters who seem to delight in rubbishing the contents of some posts.

Cheers Shaun

     Hi Chris
I'm new to forums so I just want to introduce myself.

My name is Steen Hoj Rasmussen is 73 years old and from Denmark.
Member of www.vmk-rc.dk

I'm also building a Rother class, but mine from David Metcalf, think it was the last one he made, is not completely satisfied with the set, there is mismatch and there are a few things missing. Has not come so far, but it will probably be finish. I am among others by making molds for ballast (lead). In the building thread you refer to, I have found a lot of inspiration, but miss the last pictures that show the actual completion. If you can find Toni alias tt1
I would like to have copies of his pictures.
If you want to exchange building tips, you can write to me at my e-mail address:

Regards,
Steen
