Planning ahead
« on: November 26, 2017, 02:07:20 pm »

Looking to the future, can any of you good people suggest a suitable boat on which I could make my first attempt at planking. I would prefer it to rc rather than a static model.
None to complicated ( be my 3rd build) I would also like to build from a plan.
Hope you can help.
Many thanks.

I built this as a first POF model https://www.sarikhobbies.com/product/marie-joseph/

It was my third build. Take it slow and it shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck

Hi
Looks very nice. Is the hull planked, or just the deck? Can’t quite see from the photo.

The hull is planked, as is the deck over a sheet underlay. After planking the deck was covered with fibre glass tissue so you won't see the individual planks from the outside.  Sorry I don't have photos of the build but I can let you have a guide to planking if you want, just pm me your email address.
