Ardunio Powered Smoker

(1/2) > >>

timgarrod:
Been messing around with the Smoker I've made with the ardunio powering the fan.

https://youtu.be/EsbWWbqPQPI

Mid Thottle - Min smoke,
Move the Throttle a bit and get full smoke,
full throttle - Min smoke.

Might mess about with it so when the engine sound start up. the fan to rev up and down too.

C-3PO:
Nice one Tim...

Did you make the smoker unit as well or just bolt on the Arduino control?

C-3PO

timgarrod:
Hi C3po.

made the smoker too.

cheers

C-3PO:
Tim,

What type of fan did you use and what voltage is it working at?

Did you use PWM to control speed? and was this via some sort of transistor?

Cheers
C-3PO

timgarrod:
Hi C3po,

the fan is a CPU 12volt fan (not the pwm version)and running it on 6 volt as 12 was to much and pushed the smoke out too quick. I tied the neg wire via a Mosfet to control the speed. Should of listen to good friend along time ago to with this little mosfets instead of relays(cheers John :) ).
The board moved on a little bit, it now controls not just the fan but also the lights.

now i unstand how to use them, will be using them more often.

Will post pic of the board and video of it in the boat for full effect.

cheers

Tim
