Turnigy 5X and servo travel

(1/1)

rayna:
Hi I have a Turnigy 5X (FHSS 2.4Hz) set with a matching TGY 53R reciever and have it set up so that CH1 (AIL) is on steering servo and Channels 2 and 3 respectively are on ESCs serving twin motors.
All good with the motors but using a mini Turnigy servo I am only getting less than 30 degree travel on the CH 1 which is my steering.
Any way of extending that.
CH4 is vacant ad 5 operates a servo on or off on another action.
thanks

If you get the expected travel with a standard servo, the problem lies with the mini servo.  The radio has no idea what is plugged into it, it just gives out signals according to what you tell it via the sticks.
Another of those cases where a £2.00 servo tester would give the answer in seconds.  One of each type of servo fitted with an arm, plugged in, waggle tester knob, observe any differences.  They are sometimes sold as "Servo consistency tester".
There are servo stretchers, but if it needs a mini servo, there might not be room.  Alternatively, mechanically arrange the linkage so that 30 degrees at the servo gives enough travel at the rudder arm.
