Help! What motor do I need?

(1/1)

Plastic - RIP:
So, Merry Christmas to me - I've been given 4  brand new '30A' brushless speed controllers.

I was expecting brushed controllers for my many 380-sized motors.  %)

So what do I do?

1. Give them to someone who can use them
2. Buy cheapo brushless motors that are equivalent-ish to the brushed 380 motors I normally use.

I buy 380 motors for under £3 so are these 4 controllers going to be more hassle than they're worth to me?

Any advice welcomed - with links to appropriate cheap brushless motors - with the same size shaft as a 380.

Cheers

A lot of brushless speed controllers are forward only, if yours are like that it will affect your decision.

Hi Plastic, need the spec and name, like Chas said lots of forward only out there, also some are car type, with brake!! some you cant switch off.  So post the details and keep your fingers crossed.

Lots of small brushless motors, not £3 cheap but depending what hull you are putting them in, much more powerfull

Thanks for the replies.

right - I've opened one up and carefully gone through the destructions.

They are single direction aircraft/drone/helicopter esc with all sorts of programmable settings for power curve etc.

These are obviously no use to me for a boat so these are FREE to anyone who can use them - just pm me.

Try www.robotbirds.co.uk for big selection of motors brushed and brushless. I might be able to use the speed controllers as the air wing of RO5 is being modded, I`ll PM you tomorrow.
