Shannon KMB 28 Jets
« on: January 14, 2018, 11:55:58 am »

Iam currently building a Shannon and have the KMB 28 Jets to fit and iam after some advice on which would be the best motors to use to get the best performance out of the Jets using brushless motors.

Any advice on motors or other peoples current set ups would be appreciated.

Hi,
In my Shannon over the last 12 months I've been running aquastar brushless motor 1700kv on the
KMB 28 KaMeWa water jets, with 4s lipo's.

The only issue I've had is with the reversing buckets, when I fitted the trim tabs in the actual location as fitted on the Shannon,  the thrust from the jet when in reverse hit the trim tabs and moved the model forward.

I have 3674 Leopards with 1650kv on it running it on 4S, but the boat is heavy for the 2 jets, so I used motors which are probabaly considered too big.
I´m also using budget brushed 700´s in another boat, which generally give the same performance but draw a little more amps than the brushless.

I have heard that this motor here gives also a good performance, but never had it myself.
