Well I have had this minute a pleasant conversation with a local Modeler who has AGREED to bring his little toys along,HMS Invincible all 14feet of it and his model of the Waverley also the same length. Both these are scratch built and are excellent.

Long range forcast as follows from the 26th of August

Most parts will be cloudy on Tuesday with outbreaks of rain. The rain being heaviest and most persistent in the north and west where it is also expected to be windy. The rain should be lighter and more patchy in the south and east. The northwest is likely to remain unsettled on Wednesday, but most other parts should be dry with some sunshine. Similar weather is expected at the end of next week and over the weekend with the Northwest being unsettled but mainly fine weather in the south and east. Temperatures will be mainly near average, perhaps warm in the southeast. A good deal of fine and warm weather is likely for the following week, although more unsettled weather in the northwest may spread to some western parts later.

See how good I am to you lot even arranging fine weather I HOPE

I have taken the liberty of starting a new thread for the Chit Chat surrounding the Llanberis Mayhem event.

This is to prevent the main detail of the event, and the things people need to know, being lost in the noise.

So chatting about who is brining the sandwiches can be on this Chit Chat thread.

This thread will be deleted soon after the event.

Will it be signposted when you get close? Or can't you miss it as you ride thru Llanberis.

It can be rather difficult to mapread and still concentrate on the road when you are by yourself and riding a m/bike. I don't have satnav fitted  (yet).

Drive south on the main road until you pass the lake on LHS ( you do not need to go into village). Just past the end of the lake you take the left turn for the National Slate Museum. At the end of this road turn left into the museum and park. Make for the lakeside, there should be some Mayhem signs.

Correct. I got my R and L mixed up, but I have now ammended my post above. Sorry for the confusion.

You will pass the laybye and the carpark for the lake, then take the first road on the left. It has bus shelters on the corner. Drive past the first carpark.

Then go all the way to the end of the road and turn left into the museum, and use the car park adjacent to the museum and lake.

And just in case my springer goes awol, I thought I had better bring my own rescue boat-----springer size of course {-)

Very nice.
How big is it?
I did get up to Wicksteed park in May. I liked what I saw there on the Saturday. Are those nice RNIL life boat chaps coming along? I nearly brought a hull At Wicksteed. Still got a fancy to have a go at building one.

Bill, the rescue boat is 8" long, and I'm with you I love those lifeboats, very nearly bought one at the Beale park weekend, but I have a feeling that money will change hands at the model boat show in Warwick (unless a nice trader turns up in llanberis with one)
Oh the little dingy does have the word "playmobil" on the bottom, but with a dremel and some paint :)

The Andyn Skunkworks 'Mystery Boat' is taking shape nicely.

Andyn Skunkworks are not revealing many details at this point in time, but large crates from 'Spare-Parts Industries' have been seen arriving at the top secret building facilities at Bedroom, Hertfordshire. Reporters claim that the boat is between 1 and 2 feet long, electrically powered, and grey.

A statement from Andrew, head of the company, details: The boat is taking shape nicely. We only have to make a rudder and put in the servo and water trials will be continued.

No other details are available at this present time, although the company assures Mayhem News that all will be revealed at Llanberis in a week.

Thought I'd make an effort anyway O0

Hi Bill.
You won't get 'pulled' on this thread. This is the 'Chit Chat for Llanberis' thread, and not the main Llanberis thread.
