Anyone else find it a little degrading when non-news like this hits headlines and there's heated conversations in the western world when millions of other folk in some countries can't even access basic food and water? Nevermind their local low-grade fast food franchise outlet is now shut because the head office tried to save a few £.
I do feel sorry for the workers as I belive they're franchises so staff I imagine will probably get naff-all out of it. But I'm not a customer ever so no loss to me. I imagine the proletarians who consider it a police issue are the same who would object to an ambulance stopping in their street to assist a neighbour. As mentioned before, they're probably voters, so probably helps explain things these days!
