Hi,

Any recommendations for a brushless single shaft on the Perkasa 49"  and 39" versions?

I am using a Leopard 3536-8 Turn 960Kv motor. Currently turning a 45mm 2 blade 'S' pitch plastic prop. I have run it on an 8.4v NiMh and in the water it draws about 8.4 Amps. Giving me a sparking performance. I am hoping it will give similar 'oomph' on a 7.4v LiPo, but I don't have one to test yet.
Usually available from Component Shop, but they are currently showing them as out of stock/sold out. Not sure if that means end of line. Worth a phone call..

I have about two pages of stat using differing prop, voltage and motor combos, which I shall detail on my Brave Swordsman page over the next few days. Very interesting, but the above set up proved optimal. Revs are over rated in my opinion, it's all about the torque :-))

Hi I run my 46" Whaleback ASR launch on a Turnigy 3648/1450kv outrunner with three blade 40mm brass prop.
A Hawk 50a esc and 3s Lipo.
Hull is f/g hope this helps.

I'm glad I've found this post.
I too have a 49" fibreglass hulled Perkasa which I want to convert to brushless.
My father and I built it in the 80's and fitted a 22cc petrol Kawasaki hedge trimmer engine that had a centrifugal clutch. I sold the boat in the 90's and bought it back about 8yrs ago. If my info is correct, the kit was originally planned for a .60 ic engine, but trying to find accurate information for a comparable brushless motor has been a nightmare.
I also have a 46" Precedent Huntsman that I want to convert to brushless.

I use the same 3648 1450 on my Dumas Chris Craft 1930 Runabout and am very pleased with performance, Octura 37mm submerged drive prop.
Couple of videos available on the Mayhem Facebook page, but taken with the standard Dumas prop.
