Hi
Building a 1/16 Tamar. Using 2x Turnigy car 60A esc . I have the programming card and assume the ESC is set for car setup.
Do I need to reset the values by card for a boat,  and to what numbers . Have run the brushless motors on the factory setup, but dont know if the are the best ones . Thanks for any advice .

You should certainly turn off the brake function. Unless you plan to fit brakes to your boat? 
All it will do is make you think your reverse isn't working properly. As for the other variables, I don't think they matter too much and in my experience (limited admittedly) it is difficult to spot any difference when you alter them. But others may be able to shed more light on what they are supposed to do.

They following information is for Hobbyking  HK 60A esc
It is set at the default settings for car.
If the photo is illegible l'll do something different tomorrow.

Yep, I would agree with Sailor Greg that the only thing which needs changing is option 4, which you'll want to change from Two2 to Two, the rest you can leave default, although if you wanted to experiment for a little higher RPM you could try a bit more ignition advance, this will make the motor run a little hotter though.

Thanks McGherkin l'll change option 4 as you suggested , will also remove brake function no. 5 to code 1.
Another thing I need to know is the Y lead connecting twin esc to receiver . Is it better to remove one of the red leads from the esc or from one side of the Y lead arms. It looks more feasible to remove from Y lead then you can use program card more redibibly .
Retirement project and not conversent with RC.

Most Y leads have receptacles to fit the receiver pins at the single end and pins in the double end.  Generally, the pins cannot be removed, so the option is to cut the red wire to the chosen line socket, which is a bit permanent.  "Doing" the ESC lead, best practice is to winkle the red lead receptacle out of its housing and tidy it away with a strip of insulating sticky tape for further use if needed. 
Making the cut in the Y lead might well be the most useful way of doing it.  The lead is cheap and not likely to be used for anything else, and it does make life easier for working on the ESC.

If your going to use LIPO batteries it should work OK , if your using SLA/NiHm's the voltage protection (item 1 ?) should be set to no protection , otherwise it'll cut power to the motors as soon as they load up in the water , testing it free running, no load, it'll appear to be fine . . .
