Billing model 402
« on: March 15, 2018, 08:28:53 pm »

Not getting any response from Billing about their probably discontinued model 402 - a Dutch Boeier Yacht.  Does anybody have any info on it?  In particular should it have leeboards?  The hull I have acquired is complete (except for the rig) and seems to have no provision for them.  All I need is some sort of image of the completed model.

Thank you - I thought you had sent me a blank reply but there was a faint line indicating the attachment.  I wonder why the original builder left out the leeboards?  If anybody else has info it would be a great help.

Restoration now nearly done and radio control installed but how is it that all the pictures I have found of boats of this type show a mast mounted on a tabernacle - and therefore not keel mounted - with a forestay but no port/starboard stays. The stress on the tabernacle must be enormous.

I've worked it out - the mast goes past the tabernacle right down to the keel and the but end swings up and forwards as the mast is lowed.
