Black Lurg on wires

(1/1)

Onetenor:
Any ideas how to shift the black lurg from wires

tigertiger:
If you mean a black gunky build up on the plastic sleeves of wires, I use soap and water to wet a cloth. If the connections are all sound I wrap the cloth round the wire, squeeze with my fingers and pull the wire through, and repeat several times. I just avoid getting components wet. You could also use white spirit, and gentle rubbing if things are more fragile.

If you mean something else, please elaborate.

Stavros:
If it is inside the plastic vables and on the wire itself strip it out and start again
