None of you ever hear the Vulcan flying over  with the test engine strapped to its belly attached not to mention a couple of weeks before the  France disaster she'd  just passed over Bristol regular time and was heading over the estuary when she dropped like a stone  tremendous noise lot of smoke   sharp climb then back the other way . Never saw or heard any mention of it in the media

I remember the Vulcan with the Concorde engine strapped underneath in the early 1960's but are you suggesting that they were still using it in the early 2000?

The Vulcan with the Concorde engine was destroyed in 1962 when the engine failed and ruptured the fuel tanks.

No the late 60's as for the vulcan crash  it was not the only one to be used I lived about 1 mile from the drome and you could hear the engines being ground tested also was  at  the  first flight

Yes that I was I though together with the Vulcan being withdrawn operationally in 1984. Is there more than one French disaster? I wondered when I read the Jaymac post

ahh haaa.......if this isn't a cover up, I don't know what is.........

another whitewash, lol.

I finally got a reply from the Civil Aviation Authority.......

Is that bovine excreta, I can smell.

Dear Mr Howard - Pritchard
Thank you for your email. Please accept my apology for the delay in my response.
as the UK's specialist aviation regulator, the CAA does not provide air traffic control services or monitor aircraft movements, and do not have routine access to radar data.  We do not, therefore, know who the operator of the aircraft were and cannot, therefore, advise further.
Yours sincerely

NATS (National Air Traffic Service) provide the radar and airspace control in the UK.
The CAA is purely a Regulator - rule setter, judge and jury - on aviation matters in the UK.

They could have access to the data that NATS holds - should they really need it - but for a query like this they wouldn't bother.
