It depends on your phone and your computer - but it could be!

If the lead will connect your phone to a USB socket on your computer then it should be possible. Your phone needs to be on to give access. Connect it to the computer and then look in the computer drives to see if your phone appears. If it does then you should be able to navigate to the various folders/directories on your phone and copy files across.

Alternatively just e-mail the photo's to yourself and and open them on your computer.  On my phone it's just a two click operation.

I have a Samsung j3 and when I download them to my computer and then resize them to download to the site......it comes up that this type of attachment is not supported and therefore wont load onto mayhem pages.......any ideas folks................not that I use my phone for photos often as I usually have my camera in my pocket.

Try not resizing them but download as they are onto the site using the green button (below the B bold button) on the post box. The site software will downsize for you. I have no trouble this way on my Samsung G7

I have an Huawei piece of junk (pun intended - Chinese rubbish), when I connect via the lead the phone creates three different files on the pc, knowing which one contains the photos depends upon the file being the sd card or the phones internal memory, look for DCIM, as for sizing, I drag the photos to the desktop and then open each in Microsoft Office Picture Manager and resize - crop etc so that the picture is within the 300kb size to download to mayhem.

Try opening the files with Irfanview, if it opens, resize to the size wanted, then "Save As" somewhere where you can find it again, but with file type ".JPG".  I don't know what format Samsung use, but I would not be surprised if it was something a bit different.  They do like to be different as anybody who has looked for a Samsung power adapter will tell you.  The "type of attachment" could refer to either the size or file type.

Once the images are saved to the computer. The way I resize, lazy I am, is using Powerpoint (PP).
Open powerpoint new presentation. Using insert picture, I insert the picture. Drag the picture out to fill the slide, or make a photo montage, and sometimes label the image on the slide. Then in PP, Save as jpeg. When prompted, click this slide only, name it and decide where to save it. This Jpeg file will upload on to Mayhem without any fuss.

Option 1

Yes, as other have said, plug the phone into the computer and see what happens!
( Cable is usually a Micro USB to standard USB )
Phone may ask for permissions / access &/or ask if you want to use it as 'Storage device' or 'Webcam' (etc,) choose Storage device.
Computer may need to install or download drivers.
Once connected, you phone should appear as a new Drive letter or sometime, 2 new Drive letters ( D: E: F: G: etc. )
Navigate / Browse to the new drive and look for the DCIM folder. ( DCIM stands for “Digital Camera Images.” )
In windows, mine appears as \My Computer\Trevithick Phone\Card\DCIM\Camera

Option 2

I use Google Photos.
I take all the photos I want and I've set it up so that when it reaches a WiFi in knows ( like your home WiFi ), it signs on as normal and uploads them to your Google account, which you can then get to by signing into your Google account.
Lots of Sharing and resizing option with Google Photos.
( Photos are still on your phone and accessible as above. )

Option 3

Send / Email / Share direct from you phone.
( Make sure you're on WiFi in case of Data Limitations! )

Option 3
I  did manage to send a photo direct from my phone on Saturday, to Mayhem using the 'Green Button' !

If you have an iPhone and a Mac computer and wifi you can set them up so the pictures migrate from phone to the Mac's Photos app automatically.  No cords involved.
