FORMULA E
« on: April 14, 2018, 04:02:52 pm »

Is formula E boring or what..........I fall asleep every time I watch it...........

its not the pace of the cars or the fact that it sounds like a hundred dentist drills boring into your head,  but they choose the narrowest of tracks making overtaking almost impossible, no excitement and rules that I just cannot understand. you need a doctorate in kinetic energy and electronics combined to even understand what is going on.

third season now, and I still can't stay awake.

Roll on the second meeting of the BTCC........

What sort of race is it when you have to set your pace to how much of your battery power you use?

Its undoubtedly the future of motorsport but it has many obstacles to overcome yet. For instance having to stop half way through to change cars because you have completely used up the battery pack.

They need to conquer the power output of the batterys so that a car lasts a full meaningful race distance (they are only doing a 100 miles not 200 like F1) and that they can do it at a pace that lasts - not slow down after 15 laps because the battery is depleted.

Its more a battery management exercise than racing at the moment.

Scalectrix is more exciting ;D
500 racing is doubly exciting.

I'd love to know the grubby political deals that were done to finance this 'jollies for the boys' sport. It looks to be decades away from covering its costs so where does the money come from?

It is similar for F1, it is necessary to manage the consumption and to stop to fill the reservoir
