Soldering Posts on Mtroniks 40a marine viper !!

(1/3) > >>

DTB Kearns:

Just received the mtroniks 40a marine viper speed controller and was quite surprised to see the battery and motor wires require soldering on to 'solder posts' , small posts with a blob on top !!
I've no problem identifying which wire goes where, but when it comes to soldering I am as green as they come !!
Any tips would be gratefully received.

HI having just checked the M troniks web site all the 40 amp vipers are pre wired. Some of the smaller units made many years  ago needed to be soldered 3 and 5amp units. Can we see a picture or give them a call  never seen a viper that was not pre wired.

Stan:
HI Just sent you a pm

Dave ...heads up  :-)) for acknowledging your soldering skill, but don't practice on the mtroniks 40a marine viper speed controller board

Do you have a mate with soldering kit & skills?....or are a member of a Boating Club?

I am sure either would assist for the swap of a large bottle of brown ale O0

Hi,
Thank you for the advice, I will try and add some pics.
I'm not a member of a club yet ! and I would like to give soldering a go.
The controller is definitely a 40a mtroniks marine viper just checked the mtroniks site manual and it does say some higher power versions come fitted with 'solder posts and loose wires.

Can't seem to get the pics on.
Perhaps the next step is a call / question to mtroniks.
