Not quite Mayhem weekend
« on: May 28, 2018, 02:37:41 am »

As we were unable to get to Wickstead  <:( our group put on a small static display at 'Wings over Westernport' model aircraft display in Melbourne, yesterday.I was blown away by a 1/4 scale plane doing aerobatics.  It 'walked' 20 metres, tail down, about 1.5 metres above the ground along the runway and did the most incredible manouvres as did a gas powered helicopter.  I was also amazed at RC pylon racers doing 350 Kph and 90 degree turns in no length at all.   Apparently they can pull up to 45g!   Lots of interest in our boats and a few inquiries about how to start.

this is a serious question Brian...……...but are caravans a newish thing in Ozz…………..because when I was there 40 years ago, I never ever saw a single van...………plenty of campers and RV'S as our colonial cousins call BIG  campers, but never saw a single caravan.

and I got all over the continent in my 26 months out there.

Now we have so many 'Grey Nomads' (retirees in caravans) that the truckies are complaining that they are blocking the roads.   Not just up to Queensland but all over Oz.  A couple we know have taken their van over many of the inland tracks as well as all around the coast.

Hi All
The only problem is truckies are on a time table and "Grey Nomads" are NOT !!!
