What boat is this?
« on: June 05, 2018, 09:00:28 am »

Hi, I won Ebay auction on sunday and waiting for delivery in 1-2 weeks.(from UK to Finland)

Does any of you know this boat?  -I cant find anything online that looks like it.  34" long or so

Is the engine something I should look in to or scrap?-I was told it could be Enya engine? is that good news?  -I will convert this to electric but if the engine is good would maybe sell it or install in to another project.

Pics from Ebay

Thanks for looking,

-Pate

Looks a bit like a Cigarette, but their bows are usually a lot longer.

I've got one of those Enyas, it's the only glow motor I've ever owned and it still runs after 30+ years!  O0

Hi KitS, actually I will build this as a Cary 32 Cigarette. I think the deck overhang disturbs the looks. I think grinding the sides flush with the sides will make the deck look much longer.

Yes, taking that overhang off will improve the aspect ratio of a hull a lot.  :-))

It might be a generic boat, built to suite a particular race class....   {:-{

You might find that  the overhang is the join between the deck and the hull. Grinding it away might leave the hull and deck separated..

Thanks for the warning, but I have worked with fiberglass and other composites long time. The plan is to cut the deck off  anyway to remove the engine mounts etc. and completely check and re do the hull.

I will do a build thread later on these forums.

Martin, I did search the internet even the omra sites pictures through but cant find anything.

Thinking this must come from some molds so there should be more of these around.  It does look like 80´s or 90´s boat so could predate the internet (before it was filled with pictures).

Wow, great customer service from Ripmax! -fast reply and atleast they tried to solve this mystery.
They think it is from 60´s or 70´s but have no records that old.
