Hi again, a friend of mine has a 4 mm manual ribbon shredder so I might give that a go.
What do you think.

Just to make sure for your own protection first, john...….photocopy your sheet of paper first and then use a photocopy to shred to make sure it works ok for you.

Hi,Neil, thanks for that info,I went onto the ALT.Fleetwood site then onto the gallery where
They depicted the gutted cabin with a ships wheel rope bound as in your photo.
That is what confused matters, by the way I have managed to borrow a 6mm ribbon
Shredder, I,ll let you know how I get on. I am fixing the stringers to the underside
Of the canopy,s, on the instructions they have no bracing in between the stringers as you
Have on your builds, should there be any?
Sorry to be a pest but I like things to be right.

definitely cross bracings, as this held the longitudinal stringers in position for when the planking went on.

here ya go mate...…....the reconstruction of a new lifeboat cockpit from scratch...….this will give you an idea......RNLB George elmy……..a fascinating watch.

Thanks for sharing Neil....the Vid also bought up other 'episodes' of their wood work..... could listen & watch for hours.......

Was a little surprised that Fred used a Standard 20" hand saw & not a much smaller Tennon saw in the cut-out for the stringer

Mind you I did note that he was using a keyless chuck in his battery drill for the prep-holes ......so no lost chuck keys %)

you'll never let me forget that one Derek, will you, {-) {-) {-)

ps, your spelling of your first name is unusual...……...my dad spells his name exactly the same,[and as a younger man, he is 94 he was very proud of the way he spelled it out ] and I was just wondering whether you have pommie ancestry...…..now that WOULD  be a turn up for the book...……….you could drop me that keyless chuck off next time you are on long service leave over here %% %% %% :-))

Canopy,s sorted, 25 stringers,90 cross bearers, 12 portholes reamed, good afternoons work
Spray under sides tomorrow and when my mate brings the ribbon shredder I will be able to
Plank the canopy,s. I am really enjoying this build.
