Aeronaut Bellissima yacht draught depth
« on: February 06, 2024, 02:16:42 pm »

Does any one know the water draught of an Aeronaut Bellissima yacht, one of our Club members is building one and might be too deep for our pond.
Thank you for any help!

Surely the builder can measure the draught, either from plans or from the actual model parts?  I did a rough measurement from the pictures of the completed model and it looks to be around 300mm draught, but of course that is just my estimate and a totally unreliable figure!).

Hi Bellisima is a slightly larger version of Bella.  Assuming he is building the kit which is all laser cut it is easy to work it out.  The waterline is at the entry of the transom at the stern and just measure from there.
Previous post is good.  I have the Bella and my one has just a 1/8th inch thick keel, if it is the same for the Bellisima then I suggest the keel width is boosted to the same width again on each side.
My smaller yacht is like this and much better now she has been worked on.
Otherwise it is a great design and sails very well and looks very good on the water.
