DEANS MARINE NEWS
« on: July 13, 2018, 01:36:22 pm »

For the regular visitors to our shop and works, Good news, at last after 10 year of complaining we are getting the road upgraded and resurfaced.
No more switchbacks on all the bumps and lumps, we will stand down the mountain rescue teams as well, We have been partly closed this week hopefully back in full production, collections and deliveries middle next week.Regards Deans Marine

That is good news.  Getting to Peterborough from here are some of the best roads in Britain, until you get to the last mile where it was more like a rugged safari trail.  Even the potholes had potholes.
I shall look forward to enjoying the new road this September, should cut almost ten minutes off the journey.   O0

Oh wow!!!!

Wont recognise the place now!  It was getting a little silly driving along there I must admit.

Might even be able to get into second gear now!

Hi All Latest update on the new road, all the new under surface and base is finished,
just the top dressing over the next 2 days,
looking good, but the dust is beyond belief, It so flat I have been forced to go out and buy a airplane ( or 2 ) and we are now working on a R C model racing land yacht ( seemed like a good idea at the time ?

Over the many years of visiting Deans Marine,  down the 'old' road, so far I've lost;

 5 Front wings!
 4 Ally wheels,
 3 Coils springs,
 2 Oil sumps
 ..... and a pizza with anchovy!    {-)

And your equilibrium Martin, don't forget your equilibrium.
Must have been bad if it was worse than the roads down here in Surrey.
I have driven hundreds of miles in France and Greece this year and hardly a pothole to be seen.

ColinYou haven't tried Scotland yet l.o.l.  Even the roads in Ireland don't have pot holes so I am told by bikers there last week
Kent roads were  good when I was there

It was so bad Colin that the hump in the middle was so high that it threatened to remove the underfloor of our motorhome - on a Mercedes Sprinter 3.8T chassis!!!

The old road "surface" really used to bounce the model boats about in the back of the car.
I hope they are tarmacking the passing places too.

Glad Ron's got his road fixed, it really was the proverbially "two miles of bad road!"  It doesn't help that after Ron's gaff it only leads to the Lighthouse at the End of the World, so to speak!

A mile further on you see "Beyond" signposted, this leads to the back of it.

Hi all no no. at the end of the road is a sign that says "here be dragons" and there is lots of water rushing off the edge of the world ? may this is why I have to keep topping the pond up all this week, think I will have to go and sit in it again this evening to check , with a beer ? again
 Regards Ron

Seriously, I am really looking forward to travelling your new road in September.
A pleasant change from the old rutted farm track.
I think we should call it the M33, in honour of your Monitor kit.

Just keep your eyes open if you go to the end of the road for the lunar dragons.
