Fender thread

Hi guys, can anyone tell me the cotton thickneses and type of thread used to knit the fender cover
For the Watson model lifeboat.

aye, that's what my ex used to knit the original on the smallest pins available to give a good tight holed fender cover..


 I actually remember I had some silver steel and made the pins out if that with ground points....the steel was about 1.4mm diameter.

Thanks guys, does it come in different thickneses, so I can get the right one.
Or is there only one thickness of crochet cotton?

I should imagine that you can get various thicknesses. Choose the one that will give you the result that you want. Re Neils reply. The lady that was doing these at the Harrogate show was using cotton string. nemesis

Hi guys,
for your peace of mind and mine,crochet cotton/ thread sizes start from a no 3 thickest ,up to above40


the thinner thread being the higher number, used for lace making etc. Makes sense.


However with crochet yarn, no3 is the lightest and the higher numbers heaviest. Exactly opposite 


 I'll stick with boats I think.
