Ship's boat details- 1930's
« on: September 05, 2018, 06:41:04 am »

Just finishing the clinker built tender for the Clyde puffer, and would like info, please.
All the photos of the boats stowed on the hatch cover show the rowlocks removed, Would they be secured on a line or small chain, adjacent to the socket? or stowed somewhere? I can't think they would be chucked in loose.
And did the tender show the parent ship's name and port on it's transom?

They would either be in position or hanging by a lanyard or chain as you surmise which was fed through the hole and secured at a convenient point.
