Hand Pump

kiwimodeller:
Hi, can anybody steer me towards some drawings for a hand operated boiler top up pump please. It will be mainly used for bench top work although I might put one in a boat to make it easier to refill the boiler at the lake side. Have checked my Harris book and a couple of others but they are all talking about engine driven pumps. I just need bore, stroke, lever lengths and a design for the non return valve for a manual pump. Cheers, Ian.

Ian......without machining facilities and the need to confirm a hydrostatic boiler test, I chose a different path which serves both of your needs

1. a Microcosm M6 hand pump for ~~$68.00
2. disguise it as a permanent part of the water system

It served both purposes of the boiler test and also the test on the boiler feed water system after any pump in the system

The Crew Member manning the pump is extra...........
