Another newbie in need of advice
« on: September 19, 2007, 10:28:12 pm »

Hi Guys

Ive had a number of RTR RC boats & am tired of them breaking, its usually the motors that seem to burn out.

Im now intrested in self building as im hoping that by selecting good quality parts & adding water cooling it will last. but I will be totally honest & admit I dont have a clue where to start!

I want something fast so would be looking for a vee hull (Ive seen one or two) what I would like is a breakdown of what parts I need & the purpose of the parts ie what each part does? I feel a fool asking this but although I feel im capable of a self build im unable to get the advice or guidance that I require.

(If im unable to build a half decent self build boat then im also considering the Aquacraft Super Vee 27)

one of the kits im intrested in is the, Robbe Magin One? What running gear would be required for this & what would give me the best power using electric

Any advice much appreciated

For fast electrics I would recommend a look round the Astec website, just to see what is available.
Its here @         http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/

Thanks for the link

I like the look of the G2079 http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/products-big.php?gref=g2079.jpg but is this just the hull or is it RTR do you know?

The boat is made, but you need to fit it out, so not ready to run.
