Via email to Mayhem....Hi
I came across your site quite a while ago as I was building my scale
model of the RMAS Ocean Tug Roysterer (Which my Dad was Chief engineer on in
the late 80's)
I started building Roysterer in 2000 when I joined HMS Roebuck as
something to do whilst at sea!! I got the basic Hull and Superstructure
moulding from Westward Mouldings LTD at Gunnislake in Cornwall, and lots of
technical and ship info from Dad and memories of my time on board.
I spent 4.5 years on Roebuck and continued building her using all sorts of
odds and ends I could find on board ship (not many model shops in the Gulf)
I left Roebuck and subsequently the RN in 2006 after 22 years and the
Roysterer got neglected for a time, now a full time civvy I got back into
the swing of things and she is just about finished. She has two
independently controlled engines and just need to complete sea trials to be
fully operational.
Any way hope you like the photos and I may have a go at another project .HMS
Norfolk, another old ship of mine that now belongs to Chile as the CNS
ALMIRANTE COCHRANE.!!!
Cheers, Darren
