« on: June 08, 2025, 12:33:17 pm »

Currently refurbing two Model Slipway 1/24 Loyal Class Fleet tenders - looking to put working Nav lights and stern lights etc.

Wanting the lights already in lamps to replace the solid ones,

What would you recommend please ?

Look on Harbor Models website.  They are stateside but have an excellent selection of scale navigation lights, many with proper Fresnel lenses so even when not lighted, they look right.   I have used them on all of my RC boats and all are lighted on my models.  I personally use 6v lamps and tie them into the RC receiver since it uses the same voltage in my models.  A small hidden switch lets me turn them on/off.  Really brings the model to life on the water when running at dusk.     Mike

I use LED's for nav lights in my stand off look alike models like the Sea Rider and free plan hms romper with the leds wired in series, appropiate resister running off a 9volt battery.

Paint masks off the unwanted light.

They looked great when the model the as on the water and really aided orientation in the dark.
