I cant beleive you sold it ??? I'm totaly postless.....textless....speechless...i am looking to see a doctor right away!

Of course I sold it!! How else could I fund the next model? As I said my enjoyment is in the building and solving of problems that crop up in the build. After sailing a couple of times my interest in that particular model wanes, so off I go and build another!!  8)

I will shortly be starting to post on the main Mayhem site the story of the Tyne Class lifeboat I am building at the moment. This is of the now closed Teesmouth Tyne, 47-008 RNLB Phil Mead, and the boathouse and launch slipway all in 1/12th scale.

So keep your eyes on the main site  :o !!!!!

Having seen the refit of my original build by Martin at Warwick this year I must congatulate him, even though her identity has been changed, on the brilliant job he has done considering the state she was in when he took on the mammoth rescue task. :-)) :-)) :-))

About mid Jan 2016,I was asked if I would like to do a deal with one of my boats against a Mersey,I said I would have to look and see, when I got to place where the Mersey was,I could not believe what I saw and what state it was in (I nearly cried)I knew the original owner/builder of this boat,he took 5 yrs & over 4000 hrs to build,I was told it's been left in a garden for over 4 1/2 yes, (by the state of it I can believe it),now I purchased the boat took it back home then explained to the wife (cost me a shopping trip)it is going to be a challenge, lots of bits broken, but can be repaired,it had over 6 carrier bags of fittings I started with the carriage, then the talus and finally the boat, lucky for me the original builder sent me the photos of the build in which I was truly great full. Now

1. Carriage. : old tracks removed, old wheels removed, welding bits that needed welding, front wheel assembly was broken, now I done the welding that needed doing, then i put new tracks & wheels on,new rope and carriage was done

2.Talus  : 4 carrier bags of broken bits, tracks needed repairing, the wiring had to be replaced as it was black,so I wired it up all lights working (only had to replace 1) it is now radio controlled with working lights

3. Mersey : started with the cabin, again lots of fittings come adrift, fitted the windows back in,repaired the mast and once fittings were all in the right place, I lit it up so now all lights working inside/outside,I did change the name from Scarborough boat,to Skegness lifeboat (it's my nearest station),now I then started on the hull, changed colour, fitted railings that had broken off, repaired what needed doing (Areials, hatches, trim tabs etc) all I have to do now is change motors as they were seized and put radio gear in and she will be ready to go on the water.

1:6 scale.  Talus 33"  Carriage 69"  Mersey 78", figures are Action men/ G I Joe.

It staggers me beyond belief that someone can buy such a beautiful set up model and transport as that, and then leave it in a back garden for 4.5 years to fester and decay with the ravages of the British weather.

Have they no soul at all, or would they buy an art masterpiece and just leave that out for the weather to reduce to component parts.

Tug hercules  fireman, I can say that 90% of the fittings were in one of the carrier bags as to where the original builder got them from I don't know, best to speak to mike pendlebury, and ballastanksian.  no the winch does not work at present, hopefully depending on weather at w/end I will be fitting the motors & radio gear

We are now the very proud owners of this model and from looking at the above pictures Martin you have done a great job on the rebuild. It will be very well cared for and cherished for years to come.

Why you would leave it to go into disrepair is beyond me,but this could of easily gone in the skip,I appreciated the help from Mike I was truly great full, mike spent a lot of hours building this Monster Mersey, anyway over the last year I refurbished everything, great compliments at shows and Skegness lifeboat crew on there open day,the only thing I did not do was connected to the motors and put radio gear in the boat (in which I had) but it was sold and already the gentleman has done the remainder of the build and will look forward to seeing it at show

Sorry to see you have let it go Martin, but be proud of yourself, for getting it into show condition.
Congratulations to the new owners,I hope you will now finish off what needs doing, and like Martin, take it round to various shows, and raise funds for the very worthy cause, the R.N.L.I. as Martin had done.
If I were younger, and able to handle her,I would have loved to have had her myself.
Now how about bringing her down to Falmouth,in June,to join other Lifeboat models, and Historic Lifeboats, for the 150th Anniversary of Falmouth Lifeboat? Would love to see you!
