Mayhem's Model Boat Rally at Wicksteed Park

Calling ALL Model Boat Clubs, In order to give Mayhem 'members' the opportunity to actually meet each other we have, for the last three years, been staging the very popular Mayhem Model Boat Rally during the 2nd May Bank Holiday Weekend after a kind offer from Wicksteed Park theme park and the associated Wicksteed Park Model Boat Club. The rally has been steadily growing in popularity and interest, is well attended, covered by local TV and the popular Model Boat publications being hailed as ‘good fun’ and ‘a great success’. The 2010 event promises to be larger than ever as we have invited more clubs and traders than ever before. Previously model boat clubs have attended more through word of mouth on the forum however we would like to change this and ‘officially’ invite your club to attend the 2010 rally. There is ample space to set up your clubs stand right next to the lake giving you ease of access to the waterside with ample parking & overnight camping facilities right in the park. We are billing the event as 'FREE' which it is apart from Half Price entry to Wicksteed Park (with voucher) itself and a small charge for camping payable to Wicksteed if required. There are trophies and medals to be won for various competitions, both inter club and individual also free tea and Coffee all day with a 'we supply the heat, you supply the meat BBQ in the evenings. Set up can be either Friday night or Saturday / Sunday morning Why should your club attend the event?
Last years rally saw
around 3000 visitors with more hoped for in. We would really like your club to attend and would appreciate it if you could register your interest as early as possible as this will give our small team of volunteers enough time to help set up in readiness for the 2010 event.
