SOLENT RADIO CONTROL MODEL BOAT CLUB.
www.srcmbc.org.uk

The club has its sailing waters at Setley Pond located in the New Forest close to Lymington, Christchurch and Brockenhurst.

It was founded in 1978 and is affiliated to the MYA. initially a Yacht Sailing Club racing International RM and 1 mtr class, National R Class and 6 Mtr yachts, a Scale Section being started later. There is a thriving membership of some 35 Yachting and 60 scale members.

The Yachting Section meets at the lake on Tuesday and Friday Mornings at 10 am and the Scale Section on Thursday and Sunday mornings at 10 am, and a very friendly welcome is extended to all visitors - there are also regular visits from New Forest ponies and cattle that come to drink at the pond.

The lake is co-located with a Picnic Area and model boaters can park directly adjacent to the lake. Unfortunately fast racing boats or IC boats are not allowed by the Forestry Commission Regulations.

The club holds an exhibition in Highcliffe every Spring in aid of the RNLI, last year saw the best show ever with 70 plus boats. Members also visit other clubs and exhibitions in the area.

Anyone interested in starting the hobby or joining the club is welcome to come along to the lake on a club morning. Fees are £10 Single Member, £15 Couple, £5 Junior and the membership joining fee is now £5
