Solent Lifeboat
« on: May 02, 2008, 08:36:33 am »

I have just finished refurbishing my Solent and think a few figures would look good on her, she measures up at 1/12 scale, does anybody know where and if i can get any figures from for this era of lifeboats?  I have seen the modern figures that Speedline do but i dont think the crew wore the same type of clothing during the 60,s and 70,s.

Mnay thanks

No not at all, the figures are of a high standard and only need slight filling, very impressed with them.

hi dave i don't have the moulds anymore, but a gent called Martin produces them for sale via the Lifeboat Enthusiast Society ( LBES), and the man who normally brings them to shows such as Blackpool and Warwick is a man called Adrian Clutterbuck.
However if you drop a pm to a member on here called Johno 52-11  he might be able to offer a solution to you as to where to get them. I do know that they cost £7.50 each and come with detatched arms and need painting.

Adrian should be at the LBES meeting at Chatham tomorrow, I'll see if he's got an address to get them from.

Cheers

the lad who sells them lives just around the corner from me......but I don't know whether he sells them other than via the LBES, as the LBES and he (he is called martin pritchard...no relation) donates 50% of the cost to the RNLI.

here are some pictures of the crew men as when I used to have them........don't think they have changes any.

Okey dokey,

I had a word with Adrian yesterday, and he doesn't sell them remotely, he just sells what he brings to shows etc.

However, Martin's email & phone number are on the packet for each figure, but it's probably not wise to put them out on an open forum, so I'll pm them to you.

cheers
