The right shade of green!
« on: July 27, 2006, 11:03:22 am »

I have got to the stage of thinking about the coulour of the deck.  It is loosely based on a SAR vessel, the likes of the BERLIN, and would like my deck to be a similar shade of green!
I will be brushing rather than spraying, can anyone recommend a nice shade and the best type of paint to use. The deck is of wood construction.

Flybobby, the best way is to visit your next colour-shop and decide by the colour-charts as there is a Registration No. on that colours (RAL- No.). If you have ever seen the origin, some days after painting the colour already changes- depending on salt and ultraviolet light. Though, as you have a wooden deck you need to prime the deck anyway. Another argument for visiting a paint shop as they may tell you which paint to use.

Hope this was out of any help,
Jörg
