If Royal Navy ships are named HMS '++++++', Canadian Navy ships are HMCS '++++++', etc...then what would a ship from the Brazilian Navy be named?? Is there a Royal Brazilian Navy? RBS '+++++'??

As Brazil is a republic, there will be no nomenclature relating to royalty. Brazilian ships apparently, according to Jane's, prefix the ships's name with an abbreviation for the type of ship. i.e. CT= destroyer.

Excellent, thanks for that Don...I did wonder about the Royalty connection, should have known really, shouldn't I? So a sub would be named S- '++++' then I take it?
That'll do for me...thanks again.
