got some old plans photo copied tother day but due to the size limit ont copier the plans did came out  smaller than the origonals i asume that the origonal scale of 1/24 will no longer be acurate is there some way to figure out what the scale should be ont the smaller plans

Assuming you still have the original plans, measure an obvious dimension - the length of the hull would be good. Multiply this by 24 to get the original length. Measure the same dimension on the new plan and divide this into the original length. This will give you the new scale.

Example:

Plan length 20 inches

Original length 480 inches (20 x 24)

New length 16 inches

New scale 1/30  (480 divided by 16)

Of course Murphy's law says your new scale won't be a round number  >>:-(

Just as a guide when having plans enlarged or reduced.
Draw a known square on the plan ie 1 inch square inside a circle 1 inch Diameter.
If there is a problem with length or breadth it will be obvious on the circle then you can then measure the square.
